Welcome to our beautifully restored old villa!
We welcome you to our beautiful property, where nature, space, peace and comfort come together.
After an intensive two-year renovation, we opened our doors to our guests. Share with us the rediscovered glory of Villa Paignon.
Villa Paignon was built in 1843 by a famous lawyer and publicist, Mr. Eugène Paignon. When we bought it in 2021, the villa was completely run down. Today, in addition to our residence, it has become a beautiful guest house. We hope that, like us, our guests will appreciate the grandeur of yesteryear and the design of today.
Our domain of almost 4 hectares, in the south of the Charente department, on the border of the Dordogne, is located on a hill with small patches of forest, meadows along the La Tardoire river. To the north is the famous Montgaudier cave. The village of Montbron is 2 km away.
In this region you will find medieval towns and villages, with castles and farmhouses. All in the middle of a beautiful sloping landscape with forests and lakes, with plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling (mountain biking) and canoeing.
The nearby towns of La Rochefoucauld, Piégut and Nontron also offer many attractive excursion possibilities, such as visiting markets, flea markets, museums, etc.
The ancient episcopal city of Angouleme is half an hour away, and Perigueux and Limoges one hour.
