12 km from Alès, in the heart of the Gard Cévennes, we offer two adjoining but not adjoining gîtes in a large 18th and 19th century Cévennes farmhouse in exposed stone, composed of two buildings (we occupy one of these buildings) in a small hamlet typical of the Cévennes. These two gîtes overlook a terrace and a large interior courtyard closed by a carriage entrance.
The whole can accommodate travelers looking for getaways, vacationers discovering our region and its history, lovers of calm and nature, lovers of walks or long hikes (many G.R.). On the edge of the Cévennes National Park, our preserved site is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is part of the World Biosphere Reserves. These two cottages are located on a vast estate including oak and white oak woods, chestnut trees, a pine forest, olive trees, meadows and a beautiful river a quarter of an hour's walk away in the valley. For the more sedentary, green spaces are arranged as places to rest, eat, walk, picnic in the shade and in the sun.
Cottage 1 is a former silkworm farm completely renovated of 70 m². It can accommodate 5 people. On the ground floor you enter a large country kitchen, then there is a small living room opening onto a beautiful private terrace (30m²) with a view of the mountain, a bathroom with shower and separate toilet. Upstairs a large bedroom (140 bed) and a bedroom (2 90 beds, on a wooden mezzanine) both benefiting from great light. This cottage is equipped with television and Wi-Fi.
Gîte 2 is a pleasant, fully renovated house of 60 m². It can accommodate 4 people. On the ground floor, air-conditioned and ventilated (ceiling fan), there is a large veranda with dining area and living room, a modern kitchen, a second living room with fireplace and a bathroom with walk-in shower and toilet. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with mosquito nets on the windows, one with a 140 bed on a wooden mezzanine and the other with 2 90 beds.
The configuration of the premises and the location of the cottages in the heart of the hamlet do not allow us to authorize festive events and generally a noisy occupation of the spaces at your disposal. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
