If you want to feel like you are living a dream, I know just the place to go to - Villa Ephrussi right on the French Riviera. This breathtaking home was constructed between 1905 and 1912 by a Belgian architect for a wealthy Russian-Jewish banker Baron and his wife.
The extensive mansion is just GORGEOUS and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. It's filled with antique furniture, old master paintings, sculptures, and a huge rare collection of porcelain. The nine gardens that surround the home each have a different theme: Florentine, Spanish, exotic, stone garden, Japanese, rose garden, and more. I love the gorgeous gardens filled with palm trees, fountains, statues, basins, water lilies, aquatic plants, and stunning cypress trees. Inside the home gets even better with ornate molding, French provincial furniture, and even some Venetian style pieces. The wall murals and painted ceilings look just as great.
Today, the villa is a registered historical monument and is open to the public since being gifted to the Academie des Beaux Arts in 1934 upon the Baroness' death. Take a look, wouldn't you love to live here?
